June 2009 marks the 42nd South Carolina Festival of Flowers held annually in Greenwood, S.C.
Recently included on the Southeastern Tourism Society's "Top Twenty Events," this festival is sure to be a perennial favorite! The Festival's Steering Committee, Event Chairmen and countless volunteers are working hard to make this year's Festival even bigger and better than before.
Some of the activites planned for this year:
Park Seed Company, famous for its Trial Gardens, will be open to the public and featured along with a number of private home garden tours during this year's main festival weekend, June 26-28.
The Festival features a variety of music including bluegrass, jazz, beach, chorale and gospel.
Also, there are a variety of children's activities and sporting events, including railroad museum tours and Kidfest. Visit our Arts & Crafts Fair, Juried Art Show and Photography Exhibition.
Sporting events abound with a fishing tournament, a swim meet, a 5K fun run, golf tournaments, a 62.5 bike ride through Greenwood County, plus an Olympic distance triathlon.

The South Carolina Festival of Flowers emerged a winner from the Carolina ShowFest Conference on Feb. 7-9 in Greenville. The conference drew event planners from South and North Carolina who are members of the association of festival and events for their respective states. The joint conference is conducted every other year. Don't miss the fun, every year thousands of visitors visit the area to join in one of our biggest events.
